Our state of Arkansas has its ways of surprising us. There are many landmarks and places of entertainment from all across the state that are quite unique.
Today we discovered yet another. And it might be our favorite one yet.
Wine lovers rejoice! Wiederkehr Wine Cellars is one of the more different spots in Arkansas that you’ll encounter. It’s located in a little village right in Arkansas wine country, and everyone here at Carter Recruiting thinks it’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
These wine cellars were dug by HAND in 1880. How incredible is that?
Tours of this beautiful wine cellar are offered up for FREE every single day and every 45 minutes from 9am until 4:30pm. Have any wine lovers in your life that you know of? You might want to show them this. It would also be a perfect Valentine’s Day adventure.
After a tour of the wine cellars, how about a romantic dinner? They have a cute little restaurant on site with delicious European cuisine that’s perfectly paired with their wine.
In 1880, the Wiederkehr family migrated from Switzerland to Altus. They used native berries, grapes and persimmons before the higher quality grapes were ready for production. They’ve been open for business ever since.
If you’d like more information about this winery, you can check out their website at https://www.wiederkehrwines.com.
