We all know that Arkansas has some of the best scenery in the entire South. Heck, we may be one of the most naturally pretty states in the entire country.

This is even more true during the fall. As the leaves start to change and the weather gets cooler, you’re going to have breathtaking views all over the Natural State.

One of our personal favorite spots this fall is going to be a quick little train ride in Eureka Springs, which is one of the more entertaining cities that Arkansas has to offer. This fall, prepare to take a train ride on the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway, a quick 70-mile long trek through the Ozark Mountains that’ll leave you nothing short of breathless.

You’’ll be sitting inside a 1928 Chicago Rock Island & Pacific coach pulled by a 1942 model locomotive, so it’ll really feel like you’re taking a trip back in time.

On the way through the Ozark Mountains, you’ll have incredible views on both sides of the train, so don’t worry about which side you sit on. You’ll pass across a historic bridge across Leatherwood Creek, a bridge that’s been a lesser known staple in Arkansas for decades.

You’ll have an incredible view of the iconic Crescent Hotel, which is known as the most haunted place in the entire United States. It also helps that the building itself is simply gorgeous to look at, especially from a distance.

Your conductor will also point out the burnt railings from the infamous 1988 bridge fire. Click here to see some photos of what you might witness.

Leave your snacks at home, folks, because you won’t be needing them. You’ll be sitting in a gorgeous car that’s ready to serve you food whenever you please. Check out the lunch train and the dinner train options to see all of the delicious food that you can enjoy.

In all of October, train rides will be ready to leave the station Tuesday to Saturday, and then Saturdays ONLY in November. The best part, if you have kids under the age of four, they get to ride for free! If you want more information about this beautiful trip and see how to get tickets, click here.
