We’ve been in strange times the past few months, to say the least.

For many of us, the COVID-19 crisis has given us more time than we’ve ever had in our adult lives. It’s been a stressful and frustrating experience finding ways to occupy our time. And while a lot of the country is slowly opening back up, coronavirus cases are still increasing, and there is a chance we could go right back into mandatory lockdown.

The team here at Carter Recruiting and Associates understands how strange our time period is, but there are so many ways to stay active and productive while you’re in quarantine. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn, to take care of things around the house, and focus on tasks that you’ve been putting off for a long time.

We’ve put together a list of 5 productive activities that you can take part in while you’re stuck at home.

1) Take an online course.

The age of the Internet has made it easier than ever to learn a skill in things that we are passionate about. Use this extra time to take a course and learn something valuable. Websites such as Udemy and Skillshare offer incredibly budget-friendly classes in areas such as social media marketing, photography, videography, art, and much more.

2) Start a workout routine

Not only does working out of course keep you in shape, but it’s also an energetic way to start your day and keep yourself motivated and alert, especially for when you go back to work. There are many home workout classes available online, especially on YouTube.

3) Meditate

Being stuck at home can be a scary and unfamiliar experience, so many of you will need to work on keeping a peaceful mind and a positive outlook. Just 5 to 10 minutes of meditation per day will help you relieve stress and will improve your overall wellbeing. Many of today’s most successful entrepreneurs use meditation in order to stay motivated and confident.

4) Start a DIY project

Have you always wanted to plant a garden, but have never found the time? How about paint that spare bedroom? Being quarantined is a perfect opportunity to start up your DIY project that you’ve been wanting to do. DIY projects also help build a stronger sense of self-worth and make your day more accomplished, resulting in a more positive mindset.

5) Experiment with social media

Social media has become the number 1 way to promote your project, brand, or business. If you aren’t familiar with a certain social media platform, do some research on it and create an account. See how it works and how it could help you promote what you are passionate about.
